David Harmon - I’ve worked in
the construction and renovation design field for more than
30 years. When I started out in construction in 1968 I
studied woodworking and apprenticed under other well-known
craftsmen throughout Marion County. I really enjoyed the
technical and design aspects of construction so I attended
the Louisville Technical Institute in 1975 and received my
Computer Aided Draftsmen certificate. After building a solid
foundation of design skills and experience I started Harmon
Builders in 1975 when I decided to specialize in custom home
designs.
That technical aspect of Harmon Builders is now one of the
most critical and valuable aspects of what we do. Our
in-house computer drafting ability allows us to show home
and business owners three dimensional plans of their
construction before we even break ground or begin the
physical aspects of a renovation.
Being able to design and draft building plans allows me to
work closer with homeowners or business owners to make sure
they’re getting what they really want and need in a
building.
